Our safety program
Our safety culture is based on training the right person for the job.
Fennell Forestry’s comprehensive Safety Management System includes Safe Operating Procedures and Safe Work Method Statements across all business areas.
Our staff are comprehensively inducted and trained in safe work practices and consistently demonstrate a sound understanding of this aspect through their work.
Regular safety inspections and interactions are also conducted on site, while safety issues are freely discussed during staff Toolbox Meetings.
A fortnightly in-house servicing program forms a critical part of the Fennell Forestry Safety and Operational Strategy and is recognised as a major drawcard for drivers considering a position with us.
All truck drivers are accredited with the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) and trained in Mass Management, Fatigue Management, Basic Fatigue Management, and maintenance.
Our truck drivers are also trained in vehicle recovery and driving in off-road conditions, as a means of managing forest road conditions year-round.
